Pippa is good to handle, catch and with the farrier. She is generally good in the herd and can live with mares and/or geldings.
Please do not let age put you off, Pippa is a spring chicken who is not ready to retire quite yet! Pippa is looking for an active home with an experienced career, as she is still very forward going and keen for life! Pippa enjoys going for walks around the lanes, jogging everywhere and likes to do horse agility. She is generally good to handle, easy to catch, do feet & groom. She can be a little spooky in traffic, her spooks are not bad, she is just strong so for this reason would need an experienced handler. Pippa is a firm favourite with all the grooms, she is good to turn out in a herd, and would be happy to either live out or partly stabled with her weight being monitored. She has history of laminitis this means her weight would need to be managed closely on sparse grazing.
Pippa has been diagnosed with Cushings Disease but this is easily controlled with medication. She is available for rehoming on our Prime Pastures scheme which means the Sanctuary offers financial contribution to this medication and some of her other annual veterinary costs.
