Sanctuary News: We can help – Loose or stray horses on the road, within the South West of Engl
Posted by: Admin on Monday, August 02, 2010 - 12:00 AM
The Mare and Foal Sanctuary is undertaking a road rescue project. We wish to advise you of our intentions of how we can help your community. We are aware of the dangers stray or loose horses can have on themselves and the public should they escape or be deliberately set free. The Mare and Foal Sanctuary would like to raise awareness of this and hope to help co-ordinate safe road rescues with the emergency services and other charities.

Sanctuary News: Rydon Primary School
Posted by: Admin on Monday, July 19, 2010 - 12:00 PM

We recently took two of our ponies, Annabel and Dipsybell to a nearby primary school at Rydon. The children there enjoyed seeing two such well behaved ponies and wrote us the following thank you;

Thank you for coming to our school fete and for bringing the ponies. The ponies looked very cute and the children enjoyed seeing them.

We hope to see you next year!

YOUR LEGACY COULD CHANGE THE LIVES OF MANY UNLOVED AND NEGLECTED HORSES!

Why do horses come to us?

Horses and ponies come to the Sanctuary for many different reasons; they often have medical and behavioural problems, they may be wild, in foal or have been orphaned at a very young age. Occasionally they may come to us through no fault of their own. Every horse and pony here has their own story to tell but the orphaned foals are perhaps the most heart-wrenching.

I have always known the grapevine is strong in the horse world but when the rumors flying around threaten the good name of The Mare and Foal Sanctuary, it is time to set the record straight.

Sanctuary News: A new horse arrives...
Posted by: Admin on Thursday, May 07, 2009 - 09:10 AM
Just a little video clip from the CCTV to show other horses' reaction when a new mare arrives in a yard. The new mare is Melody2 who arrived because her owners could no longer care for her. (Sorry, we don't have any pics of her uploaded yet)
