Don’t Be Lonely – Adopt A Pony

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary is offering alternative ideas to Valentine’s Day this year, and is hoping to pair up people with ponies that are available for adoption.

The scheme is the idea of Head of Education, Sally Page, who hopes that this fun idea will also help the Sanctuary, a charity run with no government funding, raise some cash.

Sally said, “Our adopt a pony scheme works for all. If you’re in a relationship, instead of flowers and chocolates this year why not go for something a little different? If you’re on your own, come down and meet your perfect pony pal.

“For example if you’re looking for your very own Knight in shining armour then Sir Didymus the miniature Shetland may be the one for you. What about a queen of hearts? Look no further than Dipsybell.

“We’ll be open from 11-2 on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, for anyone to come down and meet our adoption ponies. Anyone adopting a pony will also be helping us to continue our work rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming orphaned, neglected and at-risk ponies.”

You can also choose your adoption kit in our online shop if you can’t make it to the centre.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
