Upcott Park Silver Anniversary Open Day a roaring success with the little ones

Our special Silver Anniversary Open Day proved a huge hit at the weekend with families visiting from all over the county.
We become a registered charity 25 years ago and today we are still rescuing abandoned, mistreated or orphaned horses and ponies from all over the South West and South Wales.
On Saturday, at our Upcott Park Farm near Holsworthy in North Devon, visitors were able to meet some of those lucky animals, now well on the way to being trained as riding or companion horses and ponies.
Head of Equine, Sally Burton, said: “It was a great day and it was lovely to see so many children enjoying meeting our animals. The ponies loved the attention and it was our chance to show people just how great they are.
“They are all undergoing training at the moment and our dedicated staff were on hand to answer any questions. It was a wonderful atmosphere and people really seemed to be enjoying themselves – and the glorious weather.”
