We are looking for 30 volunteers at our new Retail Hub, which is going to revolutionise the way we sell our donated stock throughout Devon.
Sanctuary staff are busy stocking the new 7,995 sq.ft warehouse – including a shop and office space – making it a really exciting time to join the Mare and Foal Sanctuary.
And anyone who volunteers with us will gain loads of great retail experience, as well as make new friends and help us raise money to rescue even more horse and ponies.
The new warehouse, on the Brunel Court Industrial Estate in Newton Abbot, will allow us to take in larger donated items, including second-hand furniture like sofas and bookcases.
But we need a new army of volunteers for a range of exciting opportunities, from sorting, pricing and preparing our donated goods to using the till and serving our new customers.
The volunteers will also help to prepare deliveries to our five other charity shops and help sort through everything from donated clothes to jigsaw puzzles, books to jewellery.
Retail Operations Manager Dawn Green said: “Members of the public will be able to donate items, including furniture, right on site. And with so much space we will be able to sort through the donated stock much more quickly, making sure our shops always have great second-hand goods on offer.
“And we’re going to be taking on more volunteers, so if you know anyone who could spare a little time this is a very exciting moment to be joining the charity.
“They could also assist our van driver by helping to prepare deliveries to one of our charity shops. Or maybe their skills lie in shop floor sales, using the till and working directly with our lovely and loyal customers.
