We’re so excited about our Happy Hooves Pony Club returning over the summer holidays.
Every Wednesday throughout August – on the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th – we will be running fun-filled pony care sessions, including everything from making haynets to grooming and cleaning tack.
The sessions are catered at primary school-age youngsters as an introduction to practical pony care, or just to give them an idea of what it’s like looking after some of our fabulous – and cheeky – ponies.
Plus, it’s great fun to get some hands-on experience with something small enough to make the little ones feel like a true equestrian!
The sessions cost £15 and include a free gift and certificate for every child. There’s also the chance to adopt one of our horses and ponies so you can keep up to date with their progress from anywhere in the country, all year round.
There will also be gymkhana games on foot in the field or, if wet, horse shoe decorating and more arty fun indoors.
This is what mum Laura Taylor, who’s young son James took part, said: “If you have a horse loving little one then this is the best £15 you will spend! I was lucky enough to enjoy the session with my little boy as he is not quite four.
“A fantastically organised session which kept children of all ages within the group completely engrossed and interested. Fun whilst learning and lovely spending time with the ponies and helping out!
“James loved every minute of it, from filling haynets, to learning about grooming equipment and using it, pooh collecting in the paddocks, decorating a horseshoe and having trials on hobby horses in the arena. Dawn and Jill made a fantastic team, caring and helpful at all times. Roll on summer Happy Hooves!!”
