Our Charity Shops are Reopening as Donation Stations

From Monday 15th June, we will be re-opening our charity shops in Babbacombe, Bovey Tracey, Kingsbridge, Newton Abbot and South Brent after they were temporarily closed, following Government guidelines due to the Coronavirus pandemic, on 21st March 2020.

Our shops provide a vital income stream for the charity to help neglected horses like Buttermilk who was injured and infested with lice and internal parasites on arrival.

Buttermilk, a ten-year-old cob mare, had multiple wounds down her back, while her foal Marley, only one year old, had an injury on his leg. Both were incredibly nervous, and it took a long time for them to come around, especially Buttermilk. Happily, today it’s a completely different story.

Buttermilk is now thriving and thanks to the income generated from kind donations to our shops, we can provide her with a Sanctuary for life.

On the 15th June our shops will be opening as donation stations, ready to receive good quality and clean items, in particular ladies’ clothes,  bric-a-brac, craft materials and equipment, jigsaws, games and toys. Please note that our Newton Abbot shop will not be open for donations at this time, however our Reuse and Recycle Shop in Newton Abbot will be open as a drive-in donation station, making it easier for you to drop off any unwanted items.

We have also implemented a series of new health and hygiene procedures to keep you and our staff members safe. These include hand sanitiser stations, sneeze screens at all of our counters, restricted numbers in-store and credit card transactions only. More information about what we’re doing to keep you safe can be found below.

We recommend calling the shop before attending as we have limited space for your donations and we may close the shop throughout the day for health and hygiene reasons. Contact details for each of our shops can be found here.

From the 22nd June, we hope to open some of our shops for trading. More details about this will be published soon.

Sneeze screens in all shops

All shops will be provided with a sneeze screen to protect customers and staff members. These will be in place at the checkout.
