We provide advice and support to horse owners or people who are thinking about getting a horse or pony.
We also offer support to smaller equine welfare sanctuaries and other equine professionals.
We offer non-judgemental, no-shame advice and outreach to owners who are struggling with their horses or ponies for whatever reason. We’re always happy to be a sounding board for any worries or concerns about caring for horses or ponies. We are also here to listen to any welfare concerns. Our aim is to keep a horse or pony with the owner whenever possible.
You can contact our Welfare and Rehoming team by calling 01626 355969. All calls are treated in confidence. The helpline is staffed by our specialist equine team from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. Calls are charged at normal rates, but the advice is completely free of charge. The team can also be contacted by email – [email protected].
Last year, we were able to give 236 separate episodes of advice face-to-face, by phone and by email. With more than 30 years’ specialist experience to call upon, we have dealt with every kind of injury, illness and equine management or behaviour problem. Our no-shame advice is free and available to absolutely everyone – whoever you are, wherever you are and whatever the concern.
We are members of the HelplinesPartnership.

Equine Professional Support
We support professionals such as vets, farriers, saddle fitters, equine dental technicians and equine therapists to raise welfare concerns in confidence. We then work with the owner to address the problems they are facing and make sure everything is properly followed up. This leaves professionals free to continue work safe in the knowledge that any welfare issues are being dealt with.
If you need to speak to our Welfare Outreach and Advice team, you can call 01626 355969 or email [email protected]
