Companion Horses

Age: 22 years old (Born 2002)

Gender: Gelding

Colour: Black

Height: 11HH

Rainbow is being rehomed from his current Sanctuary at home location due to losing his companion, we would very much like to find him a home with a new friend. He is currently on loan in the TR4 area of Cornwall.

Rainbow is being rehomed a companion pony.

Rainbow is a lovely sweet boy with a sensitive nature that requires someone that will take the time to get to know him. Rainbow can be nervous of new situations and people, so would need a quiet home with a patience and understanding handler.

Rainbow can live out all year round with mares or geldings. He would need to have his weight watched and be restricted as necessary to avoid obesity. His ideal home would be with another pony with similar requirements. He has been respectful of electric fencing.

Rainbow has Cushing’s so is on daily medication for this and will need ongoing monitoring, he is being rehomed on our Prime Pastures scheme, where we can contribute towards the cost of this.

Please note- Rainbow is currently on loan in the TR4 area of Cornwall, so successful applicant must be prepared to travel to meet him.

Become a Sanctuary at Home Carer

To help you become a Sanctuary at Home Carer, we have a dedicated team managing our scheme and their job is to help find the right equine for you and then support you throughout your rehoming experience.

Our Pathways

We have three rehoming pathways within our Sanctuary at Home scheme. These are:

Prime Pastures

This scheme enables us to rehome horses and ponies with long-term medical conditions that are manageable. You'll be required to help support their condition with regular monitoring and we contribute towards the costs of their veterinary treatments.

Working alongside us to socialise and train young or rideable horses for future work in our education programmes. You'll help provide a home setting for these horses to mature before returning to the Sanctuary for further assessment. We work closely with you to keep up to date records of their training, achievements, milestones, setbacks and all aspects of their care.

Means you help provide a sanctuary at home for as many years as you can for a horse or pony from our charity on a loan basis.
