Dillon’s owner had taken him from market to market to be sold but nobody wanted him and there was a danger that he was going to be put down. Luckily, Rosemary took him in and gave him a new home and subsequently founded The Mare and Foal Sanctuary for ponies who desperately needed to be loved.
Dillon was in terrible condition when he arrived, underweight and completely feral. Over our 25 years together, Dillon was trained, went out on our rehoming scheme, and eventually ended up in South Manor, our retirement yard, where he lived out his last couple of years. He was a shining example of the wonderful lives these ponies can live when they receive the care and attention they deserve. Dillon was so calm and happy, and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.
