We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly committed person with experience in caring for horses and ponies to join the Sanctuary Care Team at Honeysuckle Farm, Newton Abbot. Knowledge of equine welfare, behaviour and training is advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
The Mare and Foal Sanctuary is the largest equine charity in the South West peninsula, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of horses and ponies in need. Based in Devon, we have 4 specialist sites, including a specialist veterinary and welfare assessment centre. We also have an active programme of educational events for horse owners and a multidisciplinary equine assisted learning team.
This post is based at our rehabilitation site. Working closely with our team of experts you’ll help provide the highest standard of care, monitor the health and behaviour of around 40 horses and be actively involved in delivering their tailored training and rehabilitation plans. Riding experience is not necessary for this role.
You would be joining us at an exciting time. We are in the middle of an ambitious and visionary 5 year strategy to expand our work. We have a well-established, collaborative working environment and a dedicated, passionate workforce.
We would welcome hearing from you if you:
