Maintenance Personnel

As a member of the Maintenance team and working for the Maintenance Team Supervisor,  you will assist in keeping our estates, buildings and landholdings maintained in order to provide an appropriate and safe environment for the charity to deliver its corporate objectives and day to day activities. You should be able to follow instructions and show a willingness to learn new skills.

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary is the largest equine welfare charity in the South West peninsula dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of horse and ponies who have suffered neglect, abuse and trauma. We also deliver a range of equine assisted learning and therapeutic courses with our rescued horses and ponies. The Mare and Foal Sanctuary has 5 sites across Devon, a clear 5-year strategy and is ambitious for the future.

About the role:

On a day to day basis, you will be involved in a variety of maintenance based tasks in order to ensure the smooth running of our Sanctuary sites.

Skills and Specification:

  • You will ideally have trade-based experience e.g. plumbing, wet trades or other maintenance based skills possibly via an accredited course. We will also consider someone with strong transferable skills and training will be given for the right person.
  • Have experience in fencing, tractor driving, or other land-based skills and possibly hold relevant certification. Alternatively, you may come from a background with relevant transferable skills in which case training will be provided.
  • Have a full UK Driving Licence

Rate of pay: £10.29 per hour
