What could be better than teaming up one of our gorgeous ponies with a horse mad youngster?
Our lovely little 11hh mare Arian has found a new home with excited eight-year-old Mia Major, who popped along with her mum Jemma today to pick up her new pony.
Our Equine Team found exactly the right four-legged friend for Mia and the pair have spent the last couple of weeks getting to know each other at our Honeysuckle Farm.
Jemma said she first learnt about the Sanctuary when her daughter attended one of our recent Happy Hooves pony care sessions, dedicated to Primary school children who love horses.
She said: “The great thing about loaning a pony from the Sanctuary is the certainty and honesty you get from the charity’s Equine Team.
“On the Open Market the trust isn’t there. We have actually bought a pony in the past and it wasn’t what we were led to believe or expect.
“The Sanctuary will go through everything with you and make sure the pony is a really good fit with riding sessions, detailed accounts of the pony’s training and comprehensive notes on everything, including its medical history.
“It’s also great knowing there is an expert at the end of the phone line if we need any guidance or support – or to just help us get over any blips.”
Arian will now be staying with the Major family at a livery stables in Ipplepen – but we will always be on hand to help and advice.
