Crowdfunder: Emergency Rescue Horse Mannequin

Be a hero for horses in emergencies

Be a hero for horses in emergencies this summer by helping us purchase a fully articulated horse mannequin as a training aid to help manage  emergency equine rescues.

The life-sized horse mannequin needed will enable us to deliver a realistic training experience to our Welfare Outreach and Advice team to ensure the safe handling of equines in emergency situations, from localised single animal incidents to multi-agency emergencies.

This is our first ever Crowdfunder and we aim to purchase the horse mannequin which costs £8,802

How your support could help

Syra Bowden, Head of Welfare Outreach says: “From localised single animal incidents to widescale, multi-agency emergencies and disasters, proper training for everyone involved is essential. A safe emergency rescue is far more likely to result in successful outcomes for equines and people.

“We already have the staff with experience in the ethical handling of equines, four key locations in Devon where we can host the training and access to our Anderson Sling, which is a sophisticated piece of harness recovery equipment to support the rescue of large equines.  We just need the life-sized horse mannequin to fully equip us to start delivering this training.”

Pledge your support and you’ll be rewarded too

By supporting our Crowdfunding campaign to purchase a fully articulated horse mannequin as a training aid to help manage emergency equine rescues, you can also choose from one of our exciting rewards.

From seed pencils and certificates to tote bags and VIP tours, there’s something for everyone.

This is our way of saying thank you for being a hero.

There’s also an exclusive opportunity for one lucky person (or company) to name the horse mannequin!

*Your donation will be used to purchase an articulated horse mannequin from Resquip. If we raise over the total required to purchase this item, the additional funds will be used for general running costs, such as feed, bedding and hay, to help us provide lifelong, loving care to equines in need. If we don’t meet our target to purchase this item, the remaining funds will be provided by The Mare and Foal Sanctuary.
