This role is based in Bovey Tracey and has core hours of 37.5 per week.

Salary Band: H2.1 £24,630 per annum with access to private health and Corporate Discounts

About The Mare and Foal Sanctuary
The Mare and Foal Sanctuary is the largest equine welfare charity in the South West peninsula dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of horses and ponies who have suffered neglect, abuse and trauma. We also deliver a range of Equine Assisted Services with our rescued horses and ponies. The Mare and Foal Sanctuary has five sites across Devon, a clear five-year strategy and is ambitious for the future.
What You Will Be Doing
Shop Standards: Imagine a vibrant and inviting retail space where your creative touch sets the stage. As Shop Manager, you’ll curate eye-catching visual displays in our windows and shop floor, ensuring that every corner exudes charm. Your dedication to cleanliness and organisation will transform our shop into a haven for customers, team members, and our dedicated volunteers.
People Management: Unlock the potential of our volunteers by becoming their guide and mentor. Your knack for recruiting and training will empower them with the skills they need to shine. As the orchestrator of our shop’s rhythm, you’ll craft the perfect staffing schedule and lead your team, aligning seamlessly with our policies and procedures. Effective communication will be your forte, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
Health and Safety: Safety is paramount, and you’ll be our vigilant guardian. Strictly adhering to our health and safety procedures and policies, you’ll ensure that our environment remains secure. Maintenance concerns won’t stand a chance as you promptly report and address them, guaranteeing a safe haven for all.
Stock Management: Picture a bustling shop floor adorned with treasures, all thanks to your knack for building rapport with donors. You’ll encourage high-quality donations and oversee their timely arrival on the sales floor. Coordinating with our Retail Hub, you’ll arrange seamless stock deliveries and identify hidden gems for online sales. Your pricing prowess will be key in ensuring our items find new homes.
Gift Aid: Lead by example as you champion the cause of signing up gift aid donors. Your streamlined processes will ensure that gift aid stock takes centre stage, while safeguarding donor information in line with GDPR requirements.
Administration: Adhering to our procedures and managing paperwork efficiently, your IT expertise will shine through.
Other: Cultivate positive relationships within our team and embrace opportunities for growth and development. Your presence at meetings and collaborative spirit will contribute to our shared success. Every action you take will bolster the reputation of the Mare and Foal Sanctuary, making a positive impact on our community.
What you will bring
